TPD will lead the race and runners must not overtake the Officer in charge unless directed to do so. As this is a timed event/competition the use of headphones of any kind is strongly discouraged while on the route. Hearing impairment devices are excluded.

Spectator Instructions:

All spectators are asked to remain off of the course at all times. Spectators are invited to partake in the:

  • Pre-Race Festival – Happy Hair Station, Face Painting, Friends & Family Booth
  • Shopping! The YWCA will have a small store during the event where you can purchase merchandise - proceeds benefit our local Girls on the Run council!

Event Proceeds:

All race proceeds directly benefit Girls on the Run of Northeast Kansas. Over a period of 10 weeks, girls in the 3rd through 8th grade participate in an after-school program like no other. Designed to allow every girl to recognize her inner strength, the Girls on the Run curriculum inspires girls to define their lives on their own terms. Throughout the season, the girls make new friends, build their inner confidence and celebrate all that makes them unique.
