Girls on the Run 5K
May 12, 2018
Anyone who has been to a Girls on the Run 5K knows that it is unlike any other running event. It is a celebration of and for the girls who are completing a ten week season of Girls on the Run programming. By the day of the 5K, their enthusiasm is so unbridled that they are running around before the race! Positive energy abounds as the girls dance to warm-up music, get their hair “happied” and "tattoos" on their faces, and gather with their teammates to hold hands as they head to the starting line. Our 5K is a non-competitive event that will bring a smile to your face! You will be so glad you joined us!

All race proceeds directly benefit Girls on the Run of Northeast Kansas. Over a period of 10 weeks, girls in the 3rd through 8th grade participate in an after-school program like no other. Designed to allow every girl to recognize her inner strength, the Girls on the Run curriculum inspires girls to define their lives on their own terms. Throughout the season, the girls make new friends, build their inner confidence and celebrate all that makes them unique.
This event is not possible without the support of many fabulous volunteers. To learn more about volunteering opportunities email firstname.lastname@example.org
We are recruiting exhibitors to help the GOTR girls celebrate, focusing on organizations in the community they can continue to help or become involved with outside of Girls on the Run or who promote healthy lifestyles.
We encourage and hope our exhibitors will have games or activities for the girls. Give-aways are always appreciated by the girls and their families!
Interested exhibitors can fill out the Exhibitor Request form and return it to the YWCA by May 1.
