“Being a board member takes a lot of time and work, but it’s very rewarding. Especially when you strongly believe in the mission.” – LeTiffany Obozele
YWCA Board of Directors
#ONAMISSION for 2 years
How did you first get involved at the YWCA?
YWCA Board President Alison Pollock invited me to be on the Governance Committee and help with the event formerly known as Women’s Night Out.
Who is the woman you look up to the most and why?
I most admire my mom. Despite high and lows in her life, she is resilient. Additionally, she instilled very good values in me to help me be the person I am today.
What are you most proud of in your work with the YWCA?
I’m most proud of the wonderful events YWCA Northeast Kansas puts on, that’s how I first got involved. I love volunteering my time and my talents to help support and enhance the events.
What is one thing you’ve learned in your time on the board?
I’ve learned that being a board member takes a lot of time and work, but it’s very rewarding. Especially when you strongly believe in the mission.
What drives you to do this work?
Honestly, the mission speaks to me and I enjoy the women I get to work with in promoting it.
What do you like to do for fun?
I like to spend time with my family and friends.
Who do you look up to or feel inspired by within the YWCA?
I look up to Alison Pollock because she’s the reason I got involved. She’s also pretty amazing and hardworking and gives so much of her time and self to support the YWCA.
Thank you, LeTiffany!
