What drew you to YWCA Northeast Kansas as a place you might want to work?

Non-profit work has been calling my name for the past few years! I was very drawn to the idea of beginning my professional career in an environment that serves my community. I truly can’t imagine doing anything else!

What is one of your goals as the volunteer coordinator at YWCA?

My first and foremost goal as the volunteer coordinator here at YWCA is to make sure our volunteers understand how much we appreciate them. Time is everything. Our volunteers could be spending their time anywhere else, but knowing they chose to dedicate their time to our organization is the greatest gift.

What is something you've learned or discovered in your role so far?

Everyone at YWCA Northeast Kansas makes sure to check-in with each other. Some days can be pretty hectic, but I can always count on my coworkers to make sure I am doing okay. Positive affirmations keep me going!

What do you do to take care of yourself?

I try to eat healthy foods and go on daily walks! I found that these are the best ways to reduce my stress and anxiety.

What are your hobbies, or what do you like to do for fun?

I am a huge movie buff! I love going to the movies with friends and spending hours afterwards debating our thoughts.
