Open Positions

Part-Time Overnight Shelter Advocate – Center for Safety and Empowerment

Maintains a safe, confidential environment for clients of the CSE Shelter. Provides services to clients and their children who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or abuse. Offers information and/or crisis counseling to 800 number callers, make referrals to other community agencies and resources (crime victims compensation fund, mental health services, etc.). Meets victims at the hospital for domestic violence or sexual assault support. Conducts initial shelter screen and intake for women who are victims of domestic and/or sexual violence. Orients new shelter residents and completes necessary paper work. Maintain health and safety regulations at the shelter. Other duties as assigned.

Job Classification: Non-exempt. Work Schedule: Friday and/or Saturday, 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM. Reporting Relationship: Shelter Manager

Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. Must be able to climb up and down stairs several times during shift. Certified in First Aid and CPR. (Must earn certification within 180 days of hire.)

Child Care Teacher – Early Learning Center

As a YWCA Northeast Kansas Early Learning Center Lead and Assistant Substitute, you will assist in implementing developmentally appropriate daily activities in their assigned classroom that corresponds with center themes and program philosophy. Lesson plans should include gross-motor skills, fine-motor skills, literacy, identification, and emotional/mental growth activities along with others defined by Center Director. Provide safe, stimulating, creative environment for children and actively engage in daily routine and activities with children. Develop and maintain positive, effective, appropriate relationships with children and families. Assist as needed in the classroom to perform daily duties.

This position will be full time and compensation is negotiable.

Work Schedule: Varies each week – Candidates must have daily availability from 6:30am – 6:00pm. This position will work four, 10 hour days each week.
